EVENTS OF INTEREST   FOOTBALL WORLD CUP: Every 4 years, the World's best football nations, compete for the most prestigious prize in World sport. South Africa has been awarded the right to host this event in June - July 2010. The tournament consists of 32 teams, with 31 teams qualifying and the host team getting an automatic spot in the draw. The event is divided into 8 pools of 4 teams each, with the top 2 teams from each pool going through to the last 16, then quarters, semi's and finals. The opening games are on June 11, and the final is on 12 July in Johannesburg. South Africa is a perfect choice to host this, as it has a rich sporting heritage, with very good existing stadiums and some superb new ones being built for the event.
